Posted on Sunday / August 22

Scholars may bring cell phones to school for safety reasons. Cell phones must be turned off and put away before entering the school property. Displaying, using, ringing, texting, using as a camera or recorder, or operating any electronic telecommunication device inclusive of but not limited to: cell phones, radios, iPods, Apple Watches, portable gaming systems, smartwatches, and other non instructional electronic devices is not permissible during the school day.  Using any of the items above without permission shall result in the item being confiscated and not returned until a parent or guardian meets with school leadership. Continued failure to comply with these rules will result in the device being confiscated and held by school leadership until the end of the semester.  Bringing to school a cell phone or other electronic device is solely at the student’s risk.  Democracy Prep Baton Rouge and school staff are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged device including any confiscated device with the exception of a device that is intentionally damaged by a school employee.
