ELA / Reading Instruction

Scholars in grades K-8 engage in the KIPP Wheatley English Language Arts curriculum. K-2 scholars receive foundational skill instruction through the use of Heggerty phonics.  All scholars engage in guided reading through the use of the American Reading Company IRLA Toolkit.

Math

K-5 scholars are engaged in math instruction through the use of Eureka Math.  Illustrative Math is used to provide math instruction to scholars in grades 6-8.

Science

All K – 8 scholars engage with scientific investigation, inquiry and discovery with our Science Curriculum.

Social Studies

Through a civics and social justice lens, K – 8 scholars work through historical and current events examining ways they can change their society and world.

Physical Education

All scholars K – 8 have active time within their schedule to work on their physical health.

Music & Arts

With music inquiry and artistic expression, all K-8 scholars are able to use their talents through performance and illustration.

Social Emotional Learning

With our “Purpose Over Power” initiative, we use our community circle spaces and town halls to teach scholars about the importance of social and emotional awareness.
